configuring MD into AD

Postby rahmanabas » Sat Jun 15, 2013 2:48 pm

Hi,

I have trouble trying to set up my MD into addictive drums hosted by cubase. I am using synthex 2.5 board. As of now, I am using the old unencrypted firmware version 20100516 just to see if my MD is working properly(thinking of buying the protected bootloader avr). I also have only 1 4851 at the moment(soldering the rest) so I just want to test the kick in AD. The midi note of the kick is 36 in MD as well as AD. I have set "MEGADRUM USB MIDI" as the midi device in cubase. I cannot seem to get any sound. There is MIDI activity from MDM midi log when I tap the piezo. I appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Have you created an instrument track in Cubase where the input is the megadrum midi port and the instrument is Addictive Drums? If you run the sequencer in Addictive Drums...do you hear any sound?

Do you see the midi activity in Cubase?

With the AD kit interface open in Cubase, if you click on the bass drum do you hear a sound then?

I see midi activity in cubase when i select MEGADRUM MIDI USB as input. However, when I run AD, I can't hear any sound.

Oh...Turns out I made a blunder by not selecting ASIO as line out in cubase.. Now megadrum works..or at least the kick works...I have not soldered the rest of the 4851 smd chips... However, I do have interference from the snare as I hit the kick.. Should I re-map the note for the kick?Or tweak the threshold?

Great stuff!

If the snare follows the kick...take a look in MDM and the midi monitor. If you see any thing more than note 36 when you hit the kick...then you start to error seek the MD. If not...check your settings in Addictive Drums.

Best Regards
