Is Addictive Drums 2 the best choice

Warning. I'm new to this.
Didn't stop me from ordering a MD56 from dmitri and more e-drum related stuff from elsewhere.
I hope I'll have it all up and running this winter.
Selfcomposed drum kit, because I want the kit "my way"(tm).

But I see a lot of references to Addictive Drums 2 on this forum.
Is that what works bet with the Megadrum unit or does AD2 have the most features for e-drummers ???
Maybe best hihat triggering handling?

I assume anything that can interpret midi messages should work ok but I'm just checking.

Absolutely! AD2 is the best... ...seriously ... There are many good choices out there. Most of them can be tested as trials/demos...before you buy. So test around!

The ones which could be mentioned are Superior Drummer 2, BFD 3, AD2 and if you want to try a free version...test Drumica from Sennheiser.

All will work just perfect with MegaDRUM. (We have however implemented some MD stuff in AD2 and now also in the MD firmware which may cut down the configuration time)

Interesting stuff indeed. Lotsa stuff to check.
I have listened to a bunch of the demos on the XLN site, and I like what I hear.
Especially the vintage set (early Deep Purple) and blue oyster (Bonham style).
It's hard to resist.

BTW angr77, do you work for XLN?

Yepp...the old retro ADPak...where you have the Ludwig vintage kits...are great! I am using it very often when I am playing with my cover band.

How much CPU power and RAM does AD2 require ?

I'm about to assemble a 3,6 MHZ / 32 Gb / FW interface music computer (don't have all parts yet).

Will that be enough to run AD2 together with OP-X / DAW in multitrack mode / and probably more stuff.

Share your opinions, bacause I don't know (yet) how much raw horsepower everything needs.

I am using a Microsoft Surface Pro with intel core i5 and 4GB RAM and a external sound card.

Works just perfect. So looking on your system specs you will probably end up with a super system....(Could be useful when using a host application)

Looks promising.

My intent with my "super computer" is to run everything in one computer.
I think that will make things easier.
