A theory: the difference might be in the Java version used - version number, 32bit or 64bit (you can have both on a 64bit OS). Mine definitely uses 32bit Java because it can see "32bits only" MIDI Yoke virtual MIDI ports.

Hi Again!

I have now changed the firmware to 20120122 on my MegaDRUM system and installed Java 6 Update 30 for both 64bit and 32bit. They are installed in separate directorys.

After that I made two icons pointing towards to the 64bit e.g 32 bit implementation of Java.
1. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaws.exe" -localfile "C:\Users\angr77\AppData\Roaming\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\32\49f42de0-442d72d4"
2. "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaws.exe" -localfile "C:\Users\angr77\AppData\Roaming\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\32\49f42de0-442d72d4"

Executed both scenarios with the same depressing result...It won't read the hihat settings. I am going to try my working 32 bit system in 64 bit mode to see what is happening.

Best Regards
Anders

same here, in 32 and 64bit mode the same result...
Here I stand in the falling rain
There is no joy inside these tears
I see the world through a twisted and bitter stare
To be where I have been... to see what I have seen
Is it a dream?
Or can I believe...
The memories will haunt me for evermore

Just tried it on another PC with Windows 7 64Bit (Java version 1.6.0_26-b03) through a USB hub and again could not reproduce the problem.

Shit...or yes!!...Dmitri...you said something: USB hub...I had an active USB 2.0 HUB at the work...which I took home and tested with...Both my main 64 bit systems are older HP/Compaq 6910p notebooks...and of course...the USB ports does not give enough power over the usb. Testing the system with the active USB HUB in the middle...MDM works like a clock!! No problems in either 32bit or 64 bits version of Java in MDM. Hihat configs is returned from MegaDrum without any problems.

What fooled me was my other 32 bit system..which is a newer HP Compaq 4850 Notebook and with newer USB implementation...Shit!! Sorry for bothering you Dmitri...I own you one...Paypal donation...!!

Best Regards

Anders

Hi all!

Just a question - talrusher how did it turn out for you? Was your problems the same as mine? My system works fine now without any problems (in 64 bit). (Solution - Adding an active USB-hub between the computer an the MegaDrum box)

Dmitri - If talrusher had the same problem - maybe this should be reflected in the documentation somewhere also?
I also get the feeling that my system triggers better - after injecting the external power(easier to configure right because the baseline where your start optitmize the settings works better directly) and that some other problems went away etc. (MDM Hang ups etc)

I am also using 100% Roland triggers CY8, RT-10S/K and VH-11...and I can see many complains about the Roland stuff which seems to act "too hot" from a signal standpoint ...something that I can't agree on. These triggers works perfect after configure them right. (But, maybe this is an old support issue...old information...and many firmware versions ago!!)

Best Regards

More feedback needed on this but I will keep it in mind.

I also get the feeling that my system triggers better

Maybe a placebo effect?:)
