Looks like you've set HighLevels correctly. You now have to adjust DualMidPoint.

I tried that, but when I move DualMidpoint slider as soon as the rim trigger starts to register the hit and sound the cowbell sample in Superior Drummer, the head also plays the cowbell sound and I'm no longer able to trigger the head/tom sound.

Puzzling.

I must be able to match specific settings to a specific problem. "I've tried everything" is not specific enough. This why I ask for:

1. Specific settings on the pad as they are now.
2. An exact description of the problem as it is now with these specific settings.

OK. I thought I provided that with the first posting. But I'll play around with it some more and get you more detail. The problem is that when I move the slider for DualMid point towards the center both the rim and the head trigger the same sound programmed into the rim trigger (cowbell).

I have changed the xtalk group and xtalk to 2/7 and I can't fix it.

I'll play more with the dynamic times and threshold to see if I can't get it closer before posting again.

In general what should I do with the width below the DualMid?

XTalk has nothing to do with cross-triggering between two zones in a dual zone pad.

You should not do anything with DualMidWidth so it must be left at a default 0.

Thanks. That's very helpful. I'll try some of the other settings and see if I can get any closer. I'll post back with my findings and to get additional help.

Another thing I've noticed, in case you come up with similar settings again: Retrigger, DynLevel, DynTime and Minscan must not differ considerably between the Head and the Rim in a dual zone pad.

With these settings there seems to be virtually no difference between hitting the head or hitting the rim. I get mostly the head sound but intermittent ringing of the cowbell.

What should I adjust to get the separation I'm looking for?

Move MidPoint further right. As per http://www.megadrum.info/content/pads-settings

"Midpoint is used to fine tune separation between head and rim hits. It can be set between 0 and 15. The higher the value the easier to get rim hits and more difficult to get head hits and vice versa."

When I move it too far to the right the ONLY sound that triggers is the cowbell sound. Can't get the head to even play the tom sound at all. It seems that there's not a happy medium point that allows both to trigger independently.
