On both Head and Rim:

1. Set Rettriger Mask to 5.
2. Set DynLevel to 12.
3. Set DynTime to 24.

What is the result?

I get the same result unfortunately.

I also tried to once again set all other channels to disabled (0) on all note fields, even though they were already set this way. Then do a "send all" and "save to slot" 1. This resulted in (still on aux6):

On a head hit, it generates the proper head note + a rim hit with note value 0.
On a rim hit, it alternates between a head hit with note value 51 + a rim hit with note value 0; and a rim hit with note value 52 + a rim hit with note value 0.

Rebooting the MD gives a different result:

On a head hit, it alternates between a head hit with note value 51 and a rim hit with note value 0
On a rim hit, it alternates between a head hit with note value 51 + a rim hit with note value 51; and a rim hit with note value 0 + another rim hit with note value 0.

Sorry, ignore my last post, it seems I made the "alt note" set to disabled for both head and rim for aux6 when it should be set to the same value as the main notes (still perhaps doesn't explain the behavior I got, but anyway...).
Now when setting the same note value for "note" and "alt note" I get the same behavior as before setting all other input note fields to 0. That is, head hits works as intended, while I get both head and rim notes when hitting the rim.

1. Set Latency to 15. Set MinScan on both Head and Rim to 20. Is the result still the same?
2. When you press/release the rim switch, do you see Aftertouch MIDI messages?
3. Set Dampened Note to 53. Press the rim switch and while keeping it pressed hit the head. What note(s) do you get?
4. Did you try only one pad on the same input? Is the result the same with other PD 8 pads?

This all seems quite strange to me. Usually dual piezo/switch rubber pads are very easy to configure and I don't quite understand what is going on here.

Latency and MinScan make no change.

When I press and release (with my fingers) the rim of the pad, it generates:
4,210 10 0xa9 0x34 0x7f E 3 Aftertouch
0,000 10 0xa9 0x33 0x7f D# 3 Aftertouch
0,219 10 0xa9 0x34 0x00 E 3 Aftertouch
0,000 10 0xa9 0x33 0x00 D# 3 Aftertouch

After setting dampened note and pressing the rim+hitting the head+releasing the rim:
5,995 10 0xa9 0x35 0x7f F 3 Aftertouch
0,000 10 0xa9 0x33 0x7f D# 3 Aftertouch
1,525 10 0x99 0x35 0x7f F 3 Note On
0,000 10 0x99 0x33 0x74 D# 3 Note On
0,190 10 0x99 0x33 0x00 D# 3 Note Off
0,001 10 0x99 0x35 0x00 F 3 Note Off
1,401 10 0xa9 0x35 0x00 F 3 Aftertouch
0,000 10 0xa9 0x33 0x00 D# 3 Aftertouch

I tried another of my pads and get the same result as above. Yes, I bought the PD-8 pads since they are quite common and seem reliable (big mistake I guess :) ). But as I mentioned before, on most of the inputs, the pads behave just as they should, with the same settings.

Sorry I missed it. So on most of other inputs you don't get false head triggering when hitting rim? I have a suspicion that you still have some other input enabled with Note set to 51.
Instead of disabling all other inputs can you set all notes on all other inputs to 1. What do you get now?
What cables do you use?
Are you sure you plug them all the way in at both ends?

I double checked now. All other notes are set to 0, using the "copy this input setting to all inputs" functionality and I just did a "send all" and tried again with the same result.
I set all other note values to 1 (except for the note values in the "3rd zone" part). Same result. Also rebooting the MD with the same result (after saving to slot 1).

The cables are brand new, not super expensive but not the cheapest brands either. TRS version. And I double checked again to see if I could get them further in on both ends but they seem to be firmly in place.

Would it make any sense to try with an older firmware version?

Can you do the following:

1. Start MegaDrum with default settings, i.e. make sure AutoLoadConf is set to No and after exiting Menu power cycle the module.
2. Connect MDM to MegaDrum but don't send any settings to MegaDrum and make sure 'Live updates' is disabled.
3. Connect the pad to the problem jack.

Manually, via Menu, set the following settings on this pad:
4. Set all Head Notes to 1.
5. Set all Rim Notes to 2.
6. Set Head->DualHead to Yes.
7. Set Rim->Type to Switch.
8. Set HiLvlAuto to No on both Head and Rim.
9. Set Gain on Head to 0.
10. Set Gain on Rim to 4.
11. Set HighLevel on both to 500.
12. Set Threshold on Head to 30.
13. Set Threshold on Rim to 10.

In MDM display MIDI Log->Visual MIDI
14. Hit the head lightly two times.
15. Hit the rim lightly two times.
16. Hit the head with medium strength two times.
17. Hit the rim with medium strength two times.
18. Hit the head hard two times.
19. Hit the rim hard two times.

Take the screenshot of MIDI Log->Visual MIDI and post it here
