Do I understand you right that when MidPoint is set:

to 7 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 8 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 9 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 10 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 11 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 12 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 13 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 14 you get mostly head when you hit rim.
to 15 you get only rim when you hit rim and you get mostly rim when you hit head.

1 only head
2 only head
3 only head
4 almost exclusively head, occasional rim cowbell if I hit it really soft
5 almost exclusively head, occasional rim, but cowbell also plays with head hit sometimes.
6 not much different than 5
7 not much difference
8 mostly head but a lot more cowbell mixed in on either head or rim
9 mostly rim even when striking head
10 almost only rim whether striking head or rim
11 and above almost only rim

at 8 when you hit rim you mostly get head and occasionally rim, and when you hit head you get mostly head but also occasionally rim.

9 mostly rim even when striking head

and with the next MidPoint up it reverses almost completely: when you hit rim you get mostly rim but also occasionally head, and when you hit head you get mostly rim but occasionally head.

Did I understand it correctly?

I'm starting to believe that you may have bad mechanical separation between the head piezo and the rim piezo.
With all the head and the rim settings as they are now, do the following:

1. On the Head set DualHead to No, XTalk to 6 and all its notes to 1.
2. On the Rim set XTalk to 7 and all its notes to 2.
3. If you have any other pad/cymbals connected, disconnect them for now.
4. Open MIDI Log in MDM.
5. Hit the head with average strength. Take the screenshot of the MIDI Log.
6. Hit the rim with average strength. Take the screenshot of the MIDI Log again.

Post both screenshots here.

Probably a dumb question I'm sure but is Midi Log available on a Mac? If not what's a suitable alternative? Or is Midi Log built into MegaDrum Manager?

Well I must say you are a genius. I feel foolish, but after your comment about your mechanical separation suspicions I opened up the drum again to have a look and my ground had come off the jack!

I put it back on and it's perfect now.

I'm glad you're around to help. I never would have suspected that.

Thanks so much.

Good. I felt something fishy was going on because on a good dual zone pad it is very easy to get at least basic separation between zones. It may require a bit more settings tuning to make it perfect.

Hello to all

Only an information, (independently of the quality pad and physical separation of zones)
when i set manually the value of "highlvl" how this values affects in the separation of two zones?

For example, if the channel Head I have a "Highlvl" set to 500 and on the Rim "Highlvl" set to 900 , the rim signal can cause more crosstalk when I go to adjust the dualMidpoint in this channel ?
There are the right conditions to prevent electrical crosstalk from megadrum?

I know only that "Highlvl" is used to see the amount of signal and helps correct it with a voltage divider if it is hot

Thanks in advance
