And another one:
Code: Select all
deleted, see newer versions in later posts

It is mostly a clean up version.
Keep in mind:
1. You cannot use MegaDrumManager with MegaDrum MIDI ports open at the same time when another program is accessing the same ports. You must use a virtual MIDI port, e.g. MIDI Yoke, as a MIDI Thru in MegaDrumManager and configure another program to use this virtual MIDI port instead of MegaDrum MIDI port.
2. Whenever the MIDI Log gets closed the live MIDI log is paused and on re-opening MIDI log you will need to "un-pause" it.

multiplied my ports with midi yoke all the time :)
tried the new version and couldn't receive any settings, so I tried an older one but the same... Tried without midi-yoke with MegaDrumUSBMIDI as in and out device, but the same. Tried restarting MDM and the PC several times.
I also noticed that after I turn my MD on the activity LED stays lit until I press the HH pedal, can't say if it was like this before.
Something broken...?
added a screenshot of some java errors when trying to recveive all settings

Delete megadrummanager.cfg from your home dir, e.g. on Win7 c:\Users\User Name and start from scratch.
Then write step by step what you do so that I could reproduce the error.

ok here's what I do (with newest MDM version):
1. Start the PC, turn MD on
2. delete the .cfg and start MDM with command line: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -jar D:\MegaDrumManager.jar
3. Go into options, select MegaDrum USB MIDI as in and out device, selecting "Save options on exit", press OK
4. close and restart MDM
5. Open options to confirm settings are still there, click OK
6. In MDM click "Get all". progress bar starts and finishes and activity LED on MD goes active for that time.

None of the settings or FW version are received. Getting the above posted Java errors.

Opening SD2 and playing is no problem.

1. What windows version do you have?
2. What Java version are you using ("java -version" command)?
3. What firmware version is in your MegaDrum currently?

One more:
Code: Select all
deleted, see newer versions in later posts

1. Added configs/options values checking on loading options/configs and receiving sysex from MegaDrum to prevent loading illegal values.

To Poldi-1: Does the "Open MIDI/Close MIDI" button actually toggle between Open/Close states when you click it?
For now I cannot reproduce the error you get. Can anybody else reproduce it?

1. Win7 Home Premium x64
2. 1.6.0_15-b03
3. latest (20101223)
4. Toggle MIDI seems to work (can connect with MIDIOX when it's off, can't when it's on)

I tried around a bit more (basically connecting/disconnecting and changing ChainIDs) and here's what I know:
When toggling the MIDI port on for the 1st time MDM was started the firmware is recognised correctly. When I now try to "Get All" settings I get the above posted errors. When toggling the MIDI port off and then on again firmware is not recognised - need to close and restart MDM for that. In both cases sending settings to MD seems to work (changes are present in MD) and trying to receive settings definitevly gives me Sysex messages (logged with MIDI-Ox) and activity on the MD LED.
Tried to remember what could have changed, and if I remember correctly the problems started when I plugged in my RockBand adapter to MD MIDI Out and changed the ports from MIDI-Yoke to direct MegaDrum USB MIDI. Also tried with unplugged RockBand adapter and my old setup with MIDI-Yoke again but same behaviour as described.

edit: tried it with another PC (Win7 Ultimate x64) and get exactly the same behaviour.

What does MIDI-OX show when you manually send all MegaDrum settings ("Send ConfSysex" in the MegaDrum menu)?
What is the behaviour if you use MCT to load settings from MegaDrum to MCT (don't send settings from MCT to MegaDrum!) ?
