Lost hihat settings

Postby kupooglop » Thu Apr 14, 2011 6:01 am

Hello, I am using the latest firmware (20110411) and the latest mdm (the one that automatically downloads when you use it). Whenever I change the hihat pedal settings and click "save all" followed by "save to slot1", every thing works fine. After I power off megadrum and close mdm, upon restart of megadrum, I lose my hihat pedal settings and my custom curve data points. All of the pads, misc. settings have the values that I assigned them. Just the hihat pedal settings and the custom curve data points change. They return to what I believe to be the values that came with the firmware update. I have to disconnect power from megadrum for this to happen. If I just restart mdm with megadrum powered up, it keeps the hihat pedal settings I gave it. This happens when I use megadrum's keypad as well. If I save the settings in a .mds file using mdm, they are o.k. If I load that file into megadrum, save it in any of the slots, the data stays fine until I power off megadrum. When I power it back on, the hihat pedal settings revert to what they were right after I did the firmware update.

It might be the same bug as in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1569 which I might not have fixed completely. I will check it tonight.

awesome! Since I had to change my hihat pedal settings a bunch of times it brought to mind a suggestion. I was wondering if on the "big vu meter" screen on the megadrum console if it could display the actual numeric value for the hihat pedal position? I understand that you can get that information from the midi log in mdm, but my drumset is very far away from my computer and I don't use a laptop. When I am actually using megadrum the only thing I have for information is the little 16x2 screen. It would be a lot easier for somebody like me to get the hihat pedal position values directly off megadrum screen. The alternative is to tear down my hihat, disconnect megadrum, move both to my windows machine that has mdm on it, then get hihat pedal values, enter them, then move everything back to my drumset.

I've just tested and saving/loading/autoloading HiHat Pedal settings and Custom Curves works just fine.

did you cut all power to megadrum? You only see problem when you cut all power going to megadrum.

Hi,

I'm running MDM 20110414, with a Syntex v3.1 kit, with new protected bootloader chip and firmware v20110411.
I came looking to the forums because after a reboot my high-hat settings are lost, as are my Auxillary inputs.
Was pulling my hair out, but looks like this is a known issue, although you are reporting it fixed in the versions I am running, so it looks like it is not yet resolved, or one of us are doing something wrong....

Cheers,

what could cause a partial loss of stored data? I haven't had this problem before.

Just to be absolutely sure, I downloaded the 20110411 firmware from viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1075 . Loaded the firmware into the test board.

I now did it without MDM.
2. Changed BowSO to 1.
3. Changed P1 to 7 on all Custom Curves.
4. Saved to Config slot 1.
5. Set AutoLoad Conf to Yes. Waited for the menu to exit.
6. Switch MegaDrum Off.
7. Switched MegaDrum On.

On all Custom Curves P1 is 7 and BowSO is 1.

I did the above steps twice - one with MaxInputs set to 18 and another with MaxInputs set to 56.

Hmm... That's the thing. Not all the settings get lost. The ones that get lost are:

hihatPedal->misc->(type, curve, alt input)
hihatPedal->levels->(low, high, open, semiOpen, halfOpen, closed)

a few of the hihat notes changed, and lastly, p1, p2, p3 changed on the customcurve #4.

A couple of the "disabled notes" check boxes don't persist in mdm either. The ones I noticed were:

hihat head/bow 3rd zone alt note & pressroll note and hihat rim/edge alt note & pressroll note.
