Setting up MD w/ GarageBand

I am just getting the piezos soldered up and working with MD. I am curious how do I go about setting up GarageBand just for the time being. I got Logic Express to produce a sound on the piano with the piezo but nothing else. I am so lost on the software issues and getting very frustrated..
