So i tried to get the megadrum android app to work on windows 8 using rtpMIDI for wireless midi, and ran into some roadbumps, maybe someone can help.
What i did:
update megadrum firmware, install rtpMIDI, forward necessary ports, create a wireless midi session, add the app as a participant, enable live routing to and from megadrum usb midi
It kind of works, in so far that i can get the app to connect to megadrum, but as soon as i try to edit any setting, it disconnects.
This also results in a latency of "???" in rtpMIDI. I can then restart the app and disable/re-enable the rtpMIDI session to make it work again.
In addition to that as soon as i re-enable the wireless midi session an error message pops up to the effect of "teVirtualMidi port not created, given midi port name already in use".
Usually then if i do something (edit a setting using LiveOn, doing a full Get, or anything else really) it disconnects again.
One time out of maybe 20 tries (and a handful of restarts/reinstalls of rtpMIDI) it actually stayed connected after app restart + rtpMIDI re-enable, and i was able to get the config from megadrum, but that was the only time it worked, and i have no idea why.
If anyone has a solution, or even only an educated guess what could be the reason for the problems, i would be much obliged
