Midi error message with MDM

Postby krickgpe » Fri Mar 01, 2013 10:43 pm

Hi,
I have a problem with Megadrum Manager (it's pluging in my midi interface), when I select my in & out midi port (Main menu / option) MDM give me an error message "MIDI init error"
so MDM can't communicate with my MD56i.
I have verify my configuration and this one is good (I can play sounds of SD2 with my e-drum through the MD56i).
I also saw that normally the MD56i version's firmware should display in MDM, but it is not the case.
So I cannot use MDM to take the control of my MD56i and it's very boring!...
Where is the solution of that problem ?
Thanks to all for help.

This my configuration : Macbook Pro / Midisport 4X4 interface / MD 56i / SD2 /e-drum DIY

Why do you select "MIDISPORT 4x4" instead of "MegaDrum USB MIDI" in Midi In and Out?

Just use "MegaDrum USB MIDI" for both Midi In and Out. I also presume that you installed mmj as I advised in http://www.megadrum.info/content/megadrum-manager

I can take Megadrum usb midi port 1 or 2 for in & out?

Use the megadrum usb midi port 1. Don't forget to click in the checkbox "same port input/output". You can use the megadrum usb midi port 2 for your sound generating software e.g Addictive Drums etc. The fine thing in MegaDrum is that the two ports are equal...very convinent when dialing in pads and settings to be able to use the MDM and the Sound software at the same time.

And this even if the MD56i is physically connected on my midi in & out interface?

If MegaDrum is connected over USB to your Mac (regardless of other connections), use MegaDrum MIDI USB for both Midi In and Out.
