MDM crahing, need help

Postby CyberFly » Sun Mar 17, 2013 8:40 pm

I have tried a thousand times to get MDM working. No success so far.
How do you get it to work?

I'm using the online version
First I start my MD, computer makes a sound and MD is connected. Then I start MDM.
(I can use my MD to trigger sounds in Superior Drummer 2.0, this works just fine.)

The first step is to set the midi in/out under main > option.
There is no information on how to pick the right option. So I just set it to MegaDrum MIDI USB, both input and output.
The result is a red bar that says: ''Midi Innit Error''.

When I use the ''Send ConfSysex'' on my MegaDrum it sends something to MDM.
The red bar changes to a green bar with 'SysEx OK''. And I see the current firmware version, but MCU is ''Unknown''.

When I change settings on the MD and use ''Send ConfSysex'' the settings in MDM update.
So I can change settings on MD and see the changes on my computer after sending the settings.
When I try to change settings from MDM to MD the program just crashes. And the settings are not changed on MD.

To make long story short:
I can send settings from MD to MDM.
I can not send settings from MDM to MD, this makes the program crash. And the settings are not changed on MD.

The current firmware is 20130121, running on a synthax 2.8 kit powered via usb.
Thing is, MDM never worked for me. I could never send settings from my pc to MD.
It does show the MIDI notes (MIDI Log) when I hit the snare or other pads. But it sometimes think head hits are unknown or rim. The hi hat position seems to be working fine.

I would like some information on how to select the MIDI in/out. I have tried a few combinations and this has an effect on the MIDI Log, with some settings it sees head hits as head hits, and with other settings it sees them as unknown or rim. Also, the usb settings on MD seem to have an effect as well on how the MIDI Log.

You'd better update to the latest version.

There is no magic here, you select MegaDrum USB MIDI for both MIDI In and MIDI Out.

I have tried a few combinations and this has an effect on the MIDI Log, with some settings it sees head hits as head hits, and with other settings it sees them as unknown or rim. Also, the usb settings on MD seem to have an effect as well on how the MIDI Log.

I'd suggest you to try it on another PC to narrow the possible cause of the problem.

Just to make sure...

Use Megadrum Port 1 for MDM and MegaDrum port 2 for superior drums. Most often when running into problems in MDM with communication with MD...is that the drum plugin software actually are running at the same port as MDM.
