Any tips to get more realistic cymbal swells?

Postby pfapin05 » Wed Jul 03, 2013 3:20 am

Im using yamaha pcy 135 and pcy 100 cymbals with MD atmega 1284 with 56 inputs...

I have gotten my settings for the Kick, Snare, and Toms all nailed using MDM and the midi log. Here are my settings for one of the Yamaha PCY 135's, and the 2nd pic is of one of the PCY 100's. Can anyone suggest some simple things I am overlooking please? The cymbal swells from quiet to loud are roughly 60% of the way there with these settings. They jump pretty quick from about a third of the way up to 127.

Any help is appreciated.

Do you get velocity 127 only on very hard hits or quite easily with not so hard hits? If you get velocity 127 too easily you need to raise HiLevel.
