so after reading the posts about the leecher and the new protected bootloader, so we cannot make megadrum even the old one if we don't order the encrypted mcu? it's a sad story though. i want to build one but shipping cost is more expensive than the components.

Why not? You can still build it yourself and use the last unencrypted firmware.

See what bugs have been fixed since the last unencrypted version and judge for yourself if they're critical for you or not.
The Change Log is in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1075

so this is my preparation:

1: i need to print pcb using this one. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1623 (i will use 644 with 56 ins)
2. Order the parts online
3. solder everything
4. hooked isp cable
5. program using the latest unencrypted firmware
6. tweak
7. and play drums using diy pad.

are these steps correct?

so the pic18f2550 and the 6n138 are important when using the unencrypted firmware?
