Hihat beat missing after a chick

Postby karlarsch » Tue Feb 17, 2015 3:36 pm

Hi Dmitri, i´m quite fine now with my drumset exept one thing:
After a foot-chick on the hihat the following hihat-beat (bow) is ignored for about 150 milliseconds.
When i use ´New Algorithm`this doesn´t happen, but i prefer the old one. Am i the only one who has this proplem?
Best regards
Karl

It depends on the velocity of the chick and DynLevel and DynTime settings (double triggering suppression) of the HiHat cymbal input. Did you try to reduce DynLevel and/or DynTyme?

Even if you reduce the both to zero? What is Resttriger set to on the HiHat input?

Also how do you measure that hits are ignored for about 150ms after chicks?

Well, everything is fine now, the megadrum needed a restart. The Dyn-Vel and Dyn-time did the trick. Thanks for Your quick help.

Glad I found this thread, since I started noticing this happen on 16ths, on the bow.

Upgraded to latest firmware 20160406.

The missing notes only happen on the Head/Bow, not the edge.

This is with my Roland VH-11.

The problem exists on both old and new algorithms. It's not affected by changing Dyn-Vel or Dyn-time settings on the Head/Bow, only disabling the chick note will solve the issue.

Triggering on the Hi-hat Head/Bow after pressing the pedal down is momentarily blocked (yes, by about 150ms) So on 16ths that's 2 missed notes, on 4ths it will miss 1 note immediately after the chick.

Attached my config just in case it helps.

Okay, the problem has cured itself overnight. I've done nothing but switched it on to play.

I'm going to start calling these instances; mega-quirks.
