While MD Controller doesn't support new features

Postby dmitri » Sat Feb 09, 2008 11:18 pm

You may have figured it out already but I'll mention it anyway.

As you know MD Controller by aquawicket doesn't yet support 32 inputs version of MegaDrum or 22 inputs version with new features.
Still you can load and save MegaDrum configuration using MIDI-OX's SysEx capabilities, but admittedly without a nice interface to edit the configuration on a PC. In short, you configure MegaDrum on its own, then set MIDI-OX to capture SysEx from MegaDrum MIDI port. From MegaDrum menu select SendSysExConf and press key UP. MIDI-OX will capture the dump and you'll be able to save the configuration dump to a file. Now if you want to load the saved configuration into MegaDrum you again use MIDI-OX to load the SysEx configuration dump and send it to MegaDrum.

Is it possible to have a complete description of the dump file (features, variables, values, ...) ?

For a start, see this http://www.edrummonitor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7
MinScan adds one more byte to every input. Obviously 32 inputs version has more pads in the dump.

Thanks.

It would be nice to have all the new features in a single document like in this one :
http://www.megadrum.info/menu_layout.pdf (2.Configuration via MIDI SysEx)

Thanks, I was going to suggest you to update the manual, but you did it before. THanks

Aquawicket seems to be unavailable to update the MD Controller.
Is it possible to retrieve the source code and to take up the torch ? ;)
