Megadrum Manager - Mac OsX Lion

I installed Oracle Java 7 and tested MDM with it. It works fine but just as with Apples Java implementation it still need the mmj library.

OK. I got it to work too. I completely uninstalled MegaDrum Manager. Updated to Java 7. Re-downloaded a fresh copy of MegaDrum Manager and it now runs fine. However, it won't create the cool looking MDM icon -- it just looks like the generic Java icon in the dock but at least it runs.

Hi all,

I am a new user Megadrum. I just got mine and as you can imagine, the usb midi connection between megadrumManager and Megadrum does not.
(imac 2011, Lion OS X vers.10.7.5 with Java 7 update)


That said there is better since I followed the advice here. (Download mmj0-93 and paste "mmj.jar" and "libmmj.jnilib" in/library/java/expension/...)
then now Megadrum ports detected USB MIDI
but still no midi communication: MIDI init Error

Can someone help me? I have no idea any more...

When you press Ok in Options does the MIDI LED on the module blinks?

Yes, it looks alright. You may want to load a newer firmware version into your MegaDrum.

Yes, i would like to upgrade to this new one. I try but with no succes.


I managed to have the message "startUpDateOnPC" on megadrum LCD with follow the Megadrum Manager instructions.
but I don't know if i have to select 12, 16, 20 or 24 Mhz??? (the previous was on 20Mhz)

after that i don't know which firmware to chose for Lion OSX in the new firmware folder (Megadrum_20121210).

or
megadrum1284_56_20121210.bin ???
or
megadrumSTM32a_56_20121211.bin ???
or
megadrumSTM32b_56_20121211.bin ???


I tried every firmware and the result is " MegaDrum is not responding" on the "MegaDrum Firmware Upgrade" window.

Did i miss something?

For the firmware upgrade on Mac you must follow this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1252

Your MegaDrum is Atmega1284 based running at 20MHz.
