Megadrum with AD : Mute and Level problem

Postby krickgpe » Wed Jan 08, 2014 8:17 pm

Hi,
First of all I wish you a very good new year!

I use Addictive Drums and I notice something strange, some parts of AD are not responding of the mute and audio level function!
For example, when I mute or low the level of cymbal1 in AD and then hit my cymbal corresponding at cymbal 1 it's ok it works.
But for a strange reason this not working for cymbal2 and 3, ride, snare, tom1, 2, 3 and work for tom4...as I say it's not working, I mean the mute function works in the instance of AD but not when I hit these elements and it's the same for the level audio, I can not lower the volume for example...
I tried by reversing the cymbals physically it's the same thing, it does not come from cymbal.
I tried by copying in AD settings of cymbal1 on cymbal2 and it changes nothing.
I tried by copying in MDM (Copy Pad) the settings of the cymbal that works on another that not working... doesn't change anything either.
Do you have any idea to solve this problem?
Thank you.

What do you mean by "mute"? Is it cymbal choking? If so, does MegaDrum sends CC Aftertouch messages on all your cymbals when you press the edge switch?

I mean, when I mute it in AD (see picture below) it is not realy cut, the sound is heard and it the same if I want to lower or raise the volume...
Regarding the choke function of the physical cymbal it works well...

This is a complete AD issue...and has nothing to do with MD.
I am afraid that I did not find the time to really test it out yesterday properly.

Tore at XLN wrote like this on their forum:
The thing with separate outputs is that if you mute the close microphone channel for the Snare, you will still hear the snare coming out of the Overhead and Room microphone channels. If you want to mute a drum totally, then the easiest way to do that is to use the [M] button next to that drum on the KIT page in Addictive Drums. Then it will be muted in all channels.

Could that be the issue? That you still hear the Overhead and Room channels after muting...

In my opinion ...the overhead and room stuff are a very mysterious chapter in AD...It is very complex...

...it also seems to be the case for the volume function of each part!?...
Thanks
