Megadrum Manager will only connect on first MIDI port?

Postby BiggerNoise » Tue Apr 08, 2014 3:20 am

Just got my Megadrum and am connecting to MDM. Really amazing work on this, Dmitri.

One thing that seems a bit odd, The MDM software will not use the MIDIIN2(MegaDrum USB MIDI) port. It shows up in the list, but I get ???? for the firmware. If I switch to the first port, MegaDrum USB MIDI, MDM works as expected.

My sequencer (Sonar X3) opens MIDIIN2 without an issue, so this is not a big deal, but I would rather use the second port for mega drum and the first port in my sequencer. Is there something that I can do that will allow this?

I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit and I am on Java 7 update 40.
If it matters, I have "Use same In/Out" checked in the Options dialog.

Are you sure no other software is trying to use MIDIIN2 at the same time?

Same issue with my set up, also 8.1. I think it's a Windows thing. I'm on cubase so I guess it's not DAW related.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

I am very sure that nothing else is using the port.

Port1 - Sequencer, Port2 - MDM => Sequencer works, but MDM never connects to the megadrum
Port2 - Sequencer, Port1 - MDM => Everything works

I'm still on Windows 7. I'll test it with Windows 8.1 when I have a chance.
