Saved mapping not loading on reboot.

Postby /tilted/ » Sat Aug 30, 2014 1:41 pm

Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
I am using megadrum manager to set up pads (for a two-octave midi xylophone, 25 piezos, channel 1, as a chromatic run), and I am saving to slot 1, but it seems all settings are lost when I power down.
The megadrum display shows autoload yes, current config 1 -"Default", which is the name I gave it, but it seems to still drop back to channel 10, GM drum mapping configuration.

Is there something I'm missing?

What are the steps to reproduce the problem? I need it to see what you are doing wrong or for me to fix the firmware bug.

I may have found the issue.
Do I need to save config as well as saving the slot?

Which MD module do you use? ATMega or ARM?

Version of a Megadrum Manager?

Firmware version?

If you an old version of MDM...this could be the case. Save the config first and then use save to slot. On the new versions of MDM, it saves all by just select "save to slot" and select the preferred number.

Best a Regards

Sorry for the confusion everybody.
It looks like it was me doing it wrong all along.

The first time the settings probably were lost because my laptop went hibernate and I likely hadn't saved properly.

The second time was probably an error in MDM caused by the laptop restoring and not re-initialising the MD properly, or missing some settings?

The third time, which also included saving "config" as well as "slot", seems to working correctly.
