MDM in VB.Net?

Postby shuey79 » Mon Sep 29, 2014 3:21 pm

Does anyone NOT have problems with the megadrum manager on their PC using USB port? I try to run the application (java app) but it either freezes, hihat controller settings aren't sent/received or all the pads in the drop down are listed twice then freezes after making a change. This has happened time after time update after update. This is not an issue about having the latest update. I'm open to suggestions on what I can do to fix this if anyone has any. Its just VERY frustrating.

Anyway, I started to wonder why an application in VB.Net hasn't been written for Megadrum?

My system is:
Dell Vostro 420
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.
M-audio delta 44 pci
Megadrum ARM based 32 inputs connected via USB cable (3ft long) to motherboard based usb port
Hall Sensor controller

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

Hi,
I had a similar problem.

Tried a lot of changes in configuration, different drivers, etc on my PC with Windows 7 64 Bit.
Nothing helped. So I decided to kill my System and setup everything new and fresh.
After that, MDM and Megadrum worked fine.
I installed step by step Software and Drivers. After every step, I checked the funktions of MDM and Megadrum.

In my case the drivers of the graphic card an a related Programm called "Catalyst" caused problems.
I deinstalled them und use the standard graphic drivers from Windows instead (they don´t support aero settings).

Now it works and I can configure megadrum and play my drumset.

Best wishes
Peter

Oh man that sounds like a big pain... I've switched from mac to pc and I was getting the same issue (not as frequent as now) with the mac. That said, I'm not sure what the relation is between it not working for me on mac and pc.

As for the hihat issue I thought there a post on this forum about usb power not being up to par on some computers (found it: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1861)? It was said to be fixed in that thread but obviously not considering I still have the issue.... To try and deal with it I bought a separate usb 3.0 bay that is powered by the power supply so I'll give that a shot. Someone mentioned to do that there.

Perhaps all my issues are related to lack of power--I'm hoping but I doubt it.

So I noticed something last night while fooling with MDM. When I select a different pad MDM freezes. To unfreeze it I maximize the application window. Does that make any sense at all to anyone?

After 1 week of use MDM seems to be behaving if I maximize the screen size after ever setting change. No one having this problem, I'm surprised.
