Megadrum freezes when MIDI options open

Hey! I'm having a few minor software issues. I have a DIY Variable hihat pedal I'm trying to test but I can't get the megadrum MIDI log to show anything (though logic shows midi activity through the MD)

But my real question is this, there's a warning when you open MD that you should set midi options first but when I hit the OK button after main-midi window the program always freezes. Thanks!

(I have tried searching but came out empty handed. Also if anyone can help me out with the CC hihat pedal, I can't seem to get the CC message from it to register with midimonitor though the other drums show up, thanks!)

You need 2 green lights which show communication between MD and MDM. I'm not really familiar with mac but you'll need to set the correct port.
Sorry I can't be of much use.

tick the init ports and save options.

Hey! Thanks for the help Airflame, I checked the init ports on startup and now I'm getting the red sysex timeouts and I can no longer select midi ports 1 and 2, only the real time sequencer. Any tips? Thanks!

Edit: Also, any idea why the firmware info isn't getting across to MDmanager, it just lists ??????. Thanks!

Well as I understand it you should be able to select either of the 2 midi ports that MD has, from the drop downs.

1. What Mac OS X version do you have?
2. Which MDM version did you install?

1. I'm running 10.6.8 because I really like the software setup I have now and as you know, when you've got a mac, updating often means forfeiting a lot of software that won't work on newer OS's.

2. I actually tried it on both the most recent and the one right before but the screenshots are from the most recent one.

I think you need at least Mac OS X version 10.7 for MDM to work.

I'm gonna try with MDcommander and see if I can do it that way. I do have an iphone5s even though my computer's a dinosaur

MDCommander at the moment lags behind so some settings may work incorrectly.

I thought that MD Commander only worked on Ipad kind of devices....but I was surpriced - it actually came up as an app in Appstore for my 5S. Very nice Dmitri!
