It hardly needs a guide I guess. Did you enable MIDIThru as per http://www.megadrum.info/content/miscellaneous-settings ?

yes, i have the following settings:

and still i don't see any midi signals in megadrum manager's midi log when i hit pads. all i have is the midi cable connecting dtxpress' midi output to megadrum's midi input, the megadrum's led solid lit, and megadrum connected to my pc via usb. is there any wrong settings there for my plan and connections?

What is your Megadrum doing in this plan?

i'm planning to get raw midi data to use with superior drummer on my pc afterwards and make a recording, but i'm not interested in hearing that in real time while i play, i'm fine with dtxpress' default soundbank while playing. and that would also save efforts to adjust megadrum for yamaha pads.

You're enabling MIDI Thru in the wrong place. You must enable it in Misc settings, not in Options.

1. Looks like you've created a MIDI loop somewhere.
2. You're looking old MDM firmware version, you should really update it.

yes you're right, i just downloaded the latest mdm, it's nice with an installer now :) i'm now searching through the previous forum posts referencing to midi loop problem but i'm really lost, any methods to identify the setting that causes the problem? and just to ensure my understanding is right;
dtxpress is connected to "MIDIIN2 (MegaDrum USB MIDI)"
"MIDIOUT2 (MegaDrum USB MIDI)" is left unused
"MegaDrum USB MIDI" is connected to my pc
if it has something to do, what should have been selected for "Midi Thru" in options?
and i'm reading every "Misc" menu parameters one by one but can't exactly say which ones are related to this problem.

I don't understand. How did you connect dtxpress to MIDIIN2? MegaDrum has only one standard MIDI socket.

"MIDIOUT2 (MegaDrum USB MIDI)" is left unused
"MegaDrum USB MIDI" is connected to my pc

MIDI Thru in MDM Options is for passing MIDI data received by MDM on a MIDI port set in "MIDI In" to a MIDI port set in "MIDI Thru". It has nothing to do with MegaDrum MIDI Thru functionality.

and i'm reading every "Misc" menu parameters one by one but can't exactly say which ones are related to this problem.

Only MIDI Thru is related and the loop is created either by dtxpress or by the PC - MDM MIDI In/Out/Thru Options or by some other MIDI program.
