Can you run
Code: Select all
java -version
in terminal again and post your output? I am having trouble running MDMFX on Java 15 on my Arch Linux distribution. Version 11 is working so I'm sticking with that on my machines.

In what directory is MegaDrumManagerFX.jar located? I found it important to 'cd' to my file before running
Code: Select all
java --module-path /usr/share/openjfx/lib --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.web -jar MegaDrumManagerFX.jar

This might be a good guide to install version 11 if you're using a Debian based distro:

Thanks Ibanman,

$ java -version
openjdk version "11.0.10" 2021-01-19
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 11.0.10+9-Ubuntu-0ubuntu1.20.04)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0.10+9-Ubuntu-0ubuntu1.20.04, mixed mode, sharing)

I opened a terminal in the same folder as MegaDrumManagerFX.jar and pasted in
Code: Select all
java --module-path /usr/share/openjfx/lib --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.web -jar MegaDrumManagerFX.jar

MGMFX opened straight away, so at least now I can use it again. Before though, it used to open just by double clicking on it. Still it's progress of a sort.

Thanks, I've already seen that and done it. MDMFX still doesn't load by double clicking.

Place MegaDrumManagerFX.jar in your home directory.

Right Click Desktop and select "Create a new launcher here...."

Name it MDMFX

paste
Code: Select all
java --module-path /usr/share/openjfx/lib --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.web -jar MegaDrumManagerFX.jar
where it says command.

Select OK

Select Yes

You can even right click on your new launcher and open Properties. There, you can click on the icon and change it!!!

Welcome to Microsoft Windows
